When we are young, we do and say things that we later - at a more mature age - can't even believe we did or said. Maturity teaches us to edit out some of our more impulsive words and inclinations. We learn how to say and do what needs to be said and done without going too far. This is a good thing - to a point. Don't be so "grown up" today that you miss out on a chance to say something that you really need to say. You may think it would be more "adult" to hold your tongue, but this might just be an exception.
