Sephora Lip Love December Wishlist

I can only pick two (personal rule)
The highest rated ones are the Rosebud Salve and the Raspberry Sorbet by Philosophy. But I really want to own Super Orgasm by Nars. And Papaya Passion Punch by Philosophy sounds so yummy! Maybe I'll get three..

Paul Frank Lip Smacker - Cotton Candy

I bought this because of the cute packaging- and because it's cotton candy flavored -- and I neeeed things that either smell good or taste good on my lips. I haven't had a lip gloss pot in a while and I guess this is somewhat reminiscent of my childhood.

It's pretty good, very moisturizing. The only downfall is that this won't last very long because I use lip glosses like I use my lungs... sort of

My sephora lip gloss is already over-- time to hunt for new ones!

Baked By Melissa Always Makes My Day

They're tasty and aesthetically appealing..LOVE

Where Do I Start?..Starbucks? Egg Nog Latte

I had an egg nog latte today and it tasted like a milder, warmer cup of TGD egg nog. Nothing to make me feel nostalgic or happy - but it was good.

But it's just a Sports Bra

I bought this sports bra at Forever 21 to get some motivation for running..and I really like the color..but I haven't done anything but dance around in front of the TV.

Time to get serious, especially because i love the after-work out feeling!!

Check Check

Because counting how much I spend bi-weekly and matching it to my paycheck makes me happy. It feels good to be responsible.

I'll have to cut back on shopping (only buying the necessities, like boots for winter)

And now I see where I can save some money for travels...eastern hemisphere I will see you soon! yay! (*fingers crossed*)

Favs from Sephora, Walgreens Drugstores and M.A.C.

Lips: The rouge shine in Mulberry from Sephora is such a lovely fall color. I get a boost of confidence every time I put it on.

Eyelashes: The Maybelline Falsies mascara really removes the need to wear false eye lashes. 2-3 coats and I see all the difference.

Lips: The Sugar Rose line is really good for every-day wear  because it's lightly tinted and glossy.

Eyes: I bought this M.A.C eye shadow in Expresso with the intention of using it as a brow filler. But I use it to create an  "easy going" everyday smokey eye look. Loves it. It's now a staple until I get tired of it.

Black and Gold :: Inspiration

I love black and gold together and these earrings make me want to don an egyptian-esque eye-liner look and put on full a black outfit with motorcycle boots. I should do it!

I love when a tiny accessory inspires a whole outfit.

No Substitutes for the Special Things

When I tried this on in Sephora I got this instant magical princess-y feeling and came home and got complimented on my manicure. I promised myself to go back for it.  But then I saw a similar one in Forever 21 and got it instead. (See here: other sparkly nail polish
However, this look-a-like did NOTHING for me magic-wise lol. So I went back to Sephora looking for my "good-feeling-in-a-bottle" and went manic when I couldn't find the right one. I'm still looking though and I want to buy it before Christmas gets here.

Colors of Summers Past

I wore the pastel green nail polish on the right religiously during Summer 2011. And when I wasn't wearing it I had on the pastel blue color that I nicknamed "toothpaste." I got so many compliments on them. Although the pastel season/trend is over I still don them occasionally, especially when I feel nostalgic or rebellious. They put me in familiar spirits to say the least.

Baby Lips

I like how this smells. And that's about it. The color doesn't look right on me. Especially when I layer it          (because I'm one of those girls that loves to re-apply lip gloss). I guess it works for moisturizing to some degree.

The Power of Now

This book made me want to pull my hair out.

The Secret?

I'm not sure about this book either. I get it -- positive thoughts equals a positive life. Also, visualizing as well as creating space for the changes you want is essential for them them being realized.

My problem was that I became more aware of the things I didn't want and I couldn't stop thinking about those things. As a result, I had to stop before I had attracted the negative images into my life (if that makes any sense).

Maybe I'm stuck here until I can figure out how to block out the bad and focus on the good. Until then, I'm done with this book.

Think Like a Guy

I kind of ruined my dating life with his book. I feel like I was on the right track before (because I generally think like a guy and know how to get the response/actions I want from them).

I had one very bad experience with a guy in 2011 which ended with him telling me I have the wrong number (via text). I'm still hurt by this and I don't know if I should blame the situation on him, me or the book.

Needless to say that was two summers ago and nothing has launched since then-- no hope of reconciliation,  no other romances and no sign of improvement.

I love love Giuliana DePandi and her "new" life but I am so far from that place she is in because I have to work on my personality defects and my compulsive shopping problem.

So this isn't a post about what makes me happy/delighted. But it's about something that I have to work on in order to be happy -- my faults...

Bottled Frap

So I've been having these and I've decided they just don't do it for me. I don't get the "bliss" i'm used to with the whipped cream on top. No whipped cream equals no fun.

Dior Love

I tried one of these in Sephora and now I really want it because it looks pretty nice on me. Why are there sooo many things that I want?? The list never ends :( I don't usually buy $23 nail polish and I shouldn't start now....but it's pretty so one day.

New York Lover

New York is like that old boyfriend of yours ( I won't say ex) who you love love but don't like. But you stay around them because you love their presence in your life, and without them your life would have less meaning.

Because Because

I've banned myself from getting Starbucks fraps but I still get the ones from Mc Donalds--and I still stand by my opinion that a Mc Donald's caramel frap is yummier than the Starbucks equivalent. However, nothing beats a Java Chip frap :) But I'm practising self-discipline and I won't be having one any time soon.

Be Appreciative and Grateful for Your LIFE

This is what I've learned this week. (and I'm still learning)

Starbucks Serrano Avocado Panini

This made me so happy today, it's a regular/typical lunch for me but today I shared it with my favorite New Yorker and it made all the difference!

Also I'm still loving the sweet feelings I get from Cinammon Dolce Lattes :)

H&M Sparkle Friday

The only thing I wanted to buy from H&M this week (black friday or not) was this undie set I saw on the H&M app. However, when I went in the store I was blown away by all the sequins on the bra (I thought it was too much) so I only got the bottom, which I love and plan to wear with a simply gray lacy bra I got from Forever 21.

I still have a shopping problem where I tell myself "OMG I love this and I have to have it...and these too!" and then go home and whine about my low bank balance-- BUT I'm doing a lot better. I haven't bought any tops, make-up, jewelry or unnecessary products all week (the book I bought was sort of necessary =]  )

Yay for being frugal especially on black friday. I literally walked pass Sephora with the knowledge of the deals they had. I know I would've been tempted. So yay for self-control as well.

I also loveee the ribbons <3

Yay! Delivery! New Book

I just love getting stuff delivered to me! Especially books! :) I'm still not into the kindle-nook world. I love books because they remind me of my happy childhood? Maybe? But I suppose when I become more responsible than I am now I will stop supporting this love in order to save the trees? (The question marks are deliberate)

New York, I love you and I don't like you.

I have a "love-don't like" relationship with New York. I use the metro system a lot and it gets crappy. The city is almost always crowded and bustling  But there are times, especially close to Christmas, that I feel a fuzzy feeling in my soul for New York.

Sequins equal Sparkly-ness

This is a Forever 21 sequin top I bought a couple days ago. I feel like it's a wardrobe staple because it can be worn in so many ways/ with so many things. Anyway, just looking at it makes me happy lol.

New Red-orange Coat

Today I bought a coat from H&M, which is more or less a combination of these colors. I really loved the collar because it can appear asymmetrical.  I've wanted a bright coat for a long time (something that wasn't black or brown --barf-- gray is fine). But now that I have it I'm wondering how I will wear it in the upcoming days. Clearly, I will be wearing a lot of neutrals to pull this off. Either way I'm happy with it and it has brought some happy vibrant energy into my life :)

H&M Dressing Room

My favorite thing about H&M's website is the dressing room. It's almost like a grown up version of Stardoll (but real) since I actually go to H&M to get the clothes I love. I've fantasized about many a outfits here and this is how I spent my online time before Polyvore. Yay for styling!

By the way-- I love nudes/neutrals with a pop of color!

The Essentials

These are my daily essentials. I'm a fan of everything that smells good and does its job. My Sephora lip gloss  doesn't smell as yummy as my Beauty Rush lip glosses from Victoria's Secret but it is a nice fall color (and it was time to make a change). My Olay lotion makes me feel like I just took a shower even if I apply it 3 hours after my bath (it also has this cool skin quenching effect)
When it comes to deodorant, I'm that girl in the aisle scent-testing all the products before I choose one. I use the Olive Oil edge control for pony-tail days to keep my look sleek.

Getting Inspiration

This is me right now getting inspiration for new looks from Michelle Phan...love her blog!
I've decided to go with the smokey eyes and cozy sweater look.. :) Her posts make me happy

Mustard and Grey!!

I love this combo, especially for work. I bought this jacket from H&M recently but didn't want to wear it without its perfect match, a structured grey skirt.

I just need to find the right color to wear under my jacket

One More Thing (yea right)

I need to stop shopping, especially at Forever 21 and H&M. I've fallen into the trap of shopping to distract myself from my reality and to feel better about my life at the moment. But having nice things isn't helping me improve my life situation and it's probably hindering my progress. With that being said I just want to add that I really want this coat from Zara. I love its collar and slight edge. It's a cute & unique coat and I want to have it.
Zipped coat with quilted faux leather sleeves

Because I Love My Face

I'm starting to like Estee Lauder products. I'm always appalled at how much make-up is left on my face even after I wash it. I love how gentle this is and I use it on my entire face and neck to get stubborn make-up off. I hope Estee Lauder Idealist doesn't let me down either. Yay for good skin! (because pretty skin makes me happy)

** Cheers to Sparkling! **

Here's to fun nights in the city and to trying new things! Sparkle! No more shot-taking and screaming "Shots." I'm growing up :) OK maybe I'll still do shots but  I promise myself to be a lot more lady-like doing it.

Mango Substitute?

I want a mango so badly but it's not in season so I got this and it wasn't so bad. My mango longing is a little less. This is better than most mango smoothies or "juices," especially the aroma. I think I might get another one tomorrow. Yay for vitamins and yummay-ness.

Cinnamon Dolce Latte - 5 minutes of Contentment

Dear Cinnamon dolce latte, thank you for being warm and present. You make my heart and tummy smile on a dull day...!

::Neo~ new and different::::::::: whimsical~ acting or behaving in a capricious manner::

Neo whimsical is by far my favourite Essie nail polish (it's also the first of my collection). I love it because it's soft and pretty and almost barely there. Muted enough for work and glam and girly enough for partying or whatever. It's just that nail-polish that you never have to worry about...wondering does it look too bold or does it clash with my mood..never. It's very safe and that's why I love it.
I also consider myself whimsical so that works too. Thank you, Essie for a nail colour that suits me so well :) I also love the finish.

Organizing Ideas

I usually get overwhelmed with all the great stuff/ideas I see on Pinterest, especially when it comes to make-up..
So here I have tried to make the experimentation process a little easier. I've gone back to cutting and pasting (what I did before Pinterest and tumblr) because if I don't narrow the ideas down to a more practical format then I may never try any...due to "feeling overwhelmed"

Here are a few pages (with notes) summarizing what I want to try..for example an emerald smokey eye! :)

Although the ideas can be overwhelming, I'm sure in the end I'll get my heart's desire...a "soul pop" for trying new things and having some turn out great..:)

Bad Habits VS Good Habits...oh and Reality

It didn't take me long to realize that my tendency to formulate routines stems from the need to escape. Escapism appears in many forms, shopping, cultural patterns (things that provide a fantasy of comfort due to dependency/reliance) or even buying cupcakes! lol. Getting a pumpkin spice latte and cupcakes everyday will not solve my real-life problems, and the good feelings I get from them are very short lived. I'm not saying I will stop buying/relying on these (often) but I do want to escape through more creative forms..like art. Maybe the happiness I get from that will be more purifying and have more longevity.

Eyes. Lies. Surprise....Blue, Green, Plum.

Eyes speak so much, why not highlight them (not like they need it). Anyway, I love these colors on my brown eyes because they make them pop!
....and they're fun.

Lights

Nothing says Christmas/Winter to me more than sparkle! Maybe it's the association I've made with Winter and Christmas lights. Whichever way it happened-- it makes me feel sparkly.

Pumpkin Spice

My pumpkin scarf inspired me to get the pumpkin spice latte and DING DING DING we have a winner! I lovvveee this (and I've found a new routine drink..oh dear)
